The Art of Listening

No I’m not in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest ears. This playful photo is simply to illustrate a point: when it comes to my client’s needs, I’m all ears!

Listening is the key to success in my profession. It’s critical that I sit down with my clients and carefully listen to their wants, needs, desires, expectations and even their anxieties before we begin the process of finding the ideal home for them or selling the home they have invested so much ime and care into.

I listen to every question, actually encouraging clients to ask as many questions as they like. I want them to feel completely comfortable with my service and make the right decisions for them.

My slogan “Randy Cohen listens” comes so easy; it is a philosophy I have always lived by. I have even encouraged my wife and children with this thought, they to know if we listen more to what people are saying we are able to give what they want, their message will be understood and satisfied, rather than imposing what we want on them.

To many want to sell rather than “serve”, take rather than “give”, if you listen you can give, and your success comes easier and with much content.

Randy’s Background

Randy Cohen is an Associate Broker licensed since 1982, having owned and managed a chain of six Real Estate offices employing over 150 people. Randy has worked for a few of the largest Real Estate franchises across the country where he ranks amongst the best agents, and has received awards for being in the top 10 across the country for sales volume.

Through Randy’s background in management he has developed strong negotiating skills, very creative financing strategies, client perception, intuition and pier respect and reputation, which have all been an asset to his success.

Randy recalls going into management at the age of twenty-three years for his father’s busiest office, where many of the employees he was to manage new him in his childhood. Upon assuming the command he was told, “if you can complete the sales your best agents can’t bring together, you’ll know you’re a good manager”. What the best couldn’t do he did, through good listening, negotiating and if necessary creative financing to get the buyer their dream home and the seller their price. You needexperience and track record….put Randy to work for you!

The Personal Side

Randy is committed to his family, his children’s education and his religion. In his spare time he aids in fund raising for various charitable organizations, religious studies, quality time with his children, boating and scuba diving. He tries to live his life by example knowing that actions speak louder than words. He realizes that his children will grow by what they see of his example. In his community and the community at large he is a regular giver of charity, someone willing to lend a hand….care for and praise a friend.
